it’s taken me a month to get working, but i’ve finally got the punnim running. i’ve had to resort to dual-booting fedora 5 (with my current fedora 6 installation), for it to run. i don’t know why it is, but this audio stuff won’t run on the newer release. and i don’t like ubuntu very much. my experience has been that if you compile a lot of things from source, particularly from svn/cvs (which i need to, to get a lot of these audio things working), ubuntu is a dog. an absolute dog. no gcc installed by default. yuck.
fedora may be ugly, but it sure is reliable. and nothing a little bit of tweaking can’t fix.
U2’s new song, window in the skies is very beatlesque. so naturally i like it. but i hope it’s only a breif detour for them.

today sue, tim, tom and i had a frolic in the city for DI. it was sort of an end of year scavenger hunt, and though there was meant to be six of us, only sue and me ended up showing. but it was good fun. i got to go on the monorail (which i’ve never done before), go up centerpoint tower (which i have done before), go on a ferry to kirribilli..
the highlight was when we had to get a random group photo…
when we were taking it the teacher shouted out to his students “1… 2… 3… SHI-DA-NEE!!”
i didn’t realise till tim played it back to me later. he was hiding in the shadows filming it. you can hear them clearly.
why is it people that know the most about computers tend to break them the most?
i’m back on the feed. thanks ryan. you might have noticed i’ve moved house, but for once i moved my old posts over..
some things change,
others always stay the same.
after 11 days of detox, 8 or 9 of which spent with a headache.. i’m back on the coffee. and the taste is sweet. i couldn’t do the last 3/4 days. i was finding eating the right things to difficult, so i’d just not eat at all. which wasn’t very good.
i’m becoming very soy-milk intolerant
