this weekend has been quite a long one. on friday night, after the ncls christmas party at cafe church, bel, rod and myself went round to their place for hennegans (our code name for drinks). i can’t remember how late it was, but it must have been a bit late, because the 11am rise the next day on their lounge was oh so sweet. the hour that is, not the location. i haven’t slept in like that for ages. i seem to have had things on for the past few weekends that required me getting up at a more unreasonable (earlier) hour. and seeing as i’m still getting used to the whole full time working thing..
after getting home saturday morning and showering, i fiddled with my digi-delay pedal i got last weekend. i can make sweet edge style sounds now. whilst which, chris invited me round to jordy’s place for a 3pm bbq. it was a lot easier than getting to shark bay (sorry ryan), ie chris’ car. so i happily obliged.
we got there fashionably late, but the 3pm bbq was a bit of a fabrication. the first few hours were spent trying to coax people out of watching cable all afternoon. i’m glad we persisted, as the night developed, there ended up being jordy, chris, shonn, carly and me sitting around a fire on his drive way eating m & m’s and listening to tripping south american music. i danced for them a bit too. many drinks were had, and the crowd got a bit more subdued. by about 2am it was left to shonn, carly and me, who proceeded to manly for some frolicking along the dimly lit beach. and a stroll down the corso barefoot. not really recommended. i also stepped on a bottle fish and burst it. i don’t think i was poisoned, but my foot does have a sore hole in it i noticed a moment ago. we arrived back at jordy’s at perhaps 4am. carly and i got the crazy idea to watch the sunrise come up. but it was pretty poor form, it was just this big glare. i got about 3 hours sleep before heading off to church.
after church rod, joel, chris and i saw the casino royale. i definitely had my reservations. perhaps i still do. but it was a very good film. to a degree it didn’t feel like a bond film though. perhaps thats a good thing.
then i went back to play keys at evening service. my eyelids struggled through the message. now i’m home. and bed.
