i saw the film the number 23 last night. i really enjoyed jim carrey. the film itself was a bit muddled and very implausible. what is a thriller exactly? is it meant to be believable or plausible. because this certainly wasn’t. it tried very hard though. some scenes were filmed very nicely. but then some dialog sucked big time. i’m still not quite convinced joel schumacher should be a famous director.
meanwhile, it did end on a reference to numbers 32:23. it was a bit of a loose association, but it’s not often hollywood films end with a scripture quote, so i liked it.
during the last scene, which was fairly contrived and probably unnecessary, it sounded like two women behind me were crying. on leaving i over heard one of them saying “that was the most unnecessary and the worst film i have ever seen”. perhaps she was laughing. i didn’t think it was that bad.
