mystery girl

October 7th, 2007

Haunted by her side
It’s a darkness in her eyes
That so enslaves me
And if my love is blind
Then I don’t want to see
She’s a mystery to me

the older i get, the less i understand about women…

heritage

so my sister emails me yesterday after having had a conversation with mum about a relative going to our church. turns out to be lucy, a friend of mine. we’re second cousins. our grandma’s are sisters. how odd. she just send me a family photo from the 80’s where i’m a tolder with curly golden locks, and she’s a baby.

what a small world

assorted

September 4th, 2007

all last week i’ve been surrounded by fundraising chocolates. this morning i finally thought i might get one. i’m in need of sugar or something. i ventured to Judith’s desk with such purpose. but all i got was a bemused look from Judith. they’d all gone.

the next best thing i could find was the arnotts family assortment. which really isn’t best by any stretch.

both yesterday and today, after getting home from work i’ve felt this great urge to go and make use of the beautiful weather we seem to be having lately. only i can’t think what on earth to do. i was going to go down to the beach and watch the sunset, but then i realised i’m facing the complete wrong direction for that. what to do…

well, my cheap ticket to bob dylan didn’t disappoint. although, it think it’s had more of a progressive effect on me than expected. i went out and bought modern times today, and i’m really loving it.

on wednesday, i took a trip down to rach’s place. i gave my spare ticket to ayrton (rach’s brother), to which they offered dinner to me before the show. i got lost on the way to her house. which is odd considering. but, it was the first time i rode there, so i guess i can get away with that. dinner was… nostalgic to say the least..

bob was great. we had choice tickets too, we were on the floor, about 2/3rd’s back. rach and her dad were 3 rows from the back toward the left, so they weren’t very impressed with me and ayrton. emily (ayrton’s g/f) and jon (her dad) were behind us in the first teir.

i couldn’t understand much of what he said/sung. but that is part of his charm. and i found it a little odd they he didn’t utter a word other than to introduce his band in the encore. considered, i did thoroughly enjoy it, and it’s caused me to buy his latest album, which i’m really enjoying.

i just got this in an email from the guys i bought my scooter from:

Starting tomorrow… Sunday August 5th we are having scooteria social (coffee) scene.
Every Sunday from 8am – 10am the scooteria family will meet @ JACKIES CAFÉ
@ Cnr of Oxford street and Glenmore Road Paddington
First Coffee is on us.

it’s funny, because people have been asking me how much of me having a scooter is about me trying to perpetuate some sort of image, and really it’s mostly out of necessity - i don’t have a car/license.
i find it all very amusing though. it’s like having a scooter is some sort of taboo. i went into general pants to get a pair of shoes a couple of weeks ago (with my helmet in hand) and these girls (who worked there) swarmed me asking if i needed any help. zac warned me such a thing would happen. yet then the other day, on riding home from work (the city), some tradies yelled out “fag” at me.

it’s like scooter riders are this new entry to the social hierarchy, with their own little private club and a place in the greater pecking order.
